I found out that my surgery is scheduled for 9:00 am tomorrow. I will be the second surgery of the day so I could go earlier or a little later. I'm trying not to get nervous but I just don't know if it's in me. No matter what I say or think my body seems to react differently.
My sister came today so she has been keeping my mind off things. I taught her how to play Canasta and she showed me no mercy. Tomorrow is another day so I hope I'll be up to playing another round by tomorrow night. I hate losing in cards! Ashley is playing mom for me tomorrow. She is taking Matt to school and Katie to band practice. She is hoping they'll be able to tell her how to get there and back. I'm sure we'll have stories to tell.
Exciting news...I got a call this afternoon that my PET Scan got approved. I am scheduled for Tuesday, February 10th at 4:00 pm. I have to go on a diet of only water, meat, cheese, and eggs for 24 hours before the scan. Oh well!
Not very exciting news...I start chemo next week. Not sure which day. The doctor says she is not going to wait for the results of the scan before beginning the treatment. At least my tests will all be completed. Well...as far as I know.

A Wonderful Gift
As soon as I realized I was going to have surgery I knew I wanted to have family pictures taken. This was the best gift I could've been given. We had so much fun. If I ever doubt what I am fighting for it is for more days like this one. I encourage you to go and check out the following link to see a slide show. Traci, maybe you'd be better playing gin rummy! Grandpa taught us when were kids, but I don't remember how to play, otherwise I'd give you some tips! Hopefully you'll be headed home soon, and it's GREAT news about your PET Scan! HOORAY!
