The Sun Seemed Brighter Today

Yes, we had the most beautiful California day. With all the rain it is so green, clean, and the mountains are beautiful. The sun seemed brighter to me today though for a different reason - we found out that there is no cancer anywhere else in my body! Thank you, Lord! The only thing that showed up on my scans was one lymph node in my chest with cancer in it. This was not a surprise because my surgeon said it was difficult to get to all the lymph nodes and there was a possibility that there were some missed. No Stage IV cancer. Such exciting news!!

We haven't received any more results regarding the infection I am fighting. They said that if it comes back that it is in the blood that they would put me in the hospital, so please pray that's not the case. They once again ran antibiotics through an IV drip today and will probably do the same tomorrow. Unfortunately, we found out that my white blood cell count dropped overnight. Even after having an injection to boost the count it dropped from 2.7 to 1.0. I received another injection this morning and will get another one tomorrow. I will possibly have to take them over the weekend too. I'm really starting to hate needles!!

I'm not supposed to go church, the grocery store, etc. I did get permission to take Katie to get her hair done today for the Father-Daughter dance. It was just a mom thing that I wasn't going to miss. She looked amazing.

I also have to wait to return to work until they can get me stabilized. I was very bummed out about that because I just love where I work and miss everyone. I'm hoping the time will quickly pass.

It's been a busy day and tomorrow will be the same. Time to go put my feet up and get some rest.

Don't forget to hug the ones you love a little tighter today!
