PET Scan Denied

I found out this afternoon that our medical insurance denied allowing me to have the PET Scan. This was after many calls (and many hours) from the surgeon's office, oncologist office and the actual facility performing the test. My surgeon personally called the insurance and spoke to their physician who approves the tests. They will only approve a chest x-ray. It is very disappointing.

Jim is so encouraging. He said it's our first bump in the road and there is a reason for it. It's so hard because all I can say . . . it's my life they are dealing with. It seems so unfair. You hear about things like this happening but it doesn't seem real.

My appointment with the plastic surgeon has now been rescheduled until Feb. 17th until I have completed all tests. I am supposed to have an Echocardiogram and Bone Scan on Monday at 11:00 and 2:00 pm. We are not sure if that will happen now due to insurance. We will call first thing on Monday to find out. The oncologist office will begin to work on all the details on Monday regarding the PET Scan and to determine what will happen next.

I had so many things I wanted to share with you regarding my appointment with the oncologist that I forgot to share on Wednesday night. It will have to wait till later.

I need to go immerse myself in a book and imagine I am somewhere else.
