Finally!! We got some answers.
I really shouldn't be typing but I just had to share the results of my Venogram test today.
I do have a Stenosis blockage (which is an abnormal narrowing of a blood vessel.) Of course they said it's a really good one and have no idea how I got it. I mean if I'm going to have something lets make sure I do it up right. The doctor was also pretty sure I also have a clot but the dye would not go around the area but showed some signs that there was one.
You know what this really means....I DON'T HAVE A TUMOR!!
I was stomping my feet in the car with such excitement. I was in so much pain after my test that I thought what could it hurt. I don't have to have chemo!! Yes, I do have to have the same exact procedure next week so that they can do an angioplasty, and possibly insert a stent to correct the blood vessel. They will know more once they get in there. It could have been fixed right then but the doctors orders were only for the test...not to fix anything if they found it. The technicians felt so bad letting me go home with my arm so bad. They could not believe how it looked. Pain pills and elevating my arm for one more week...I can do it!
I am so thankful that my therapist didn't give up on me and my arm. She knew something was wrong and took the time to call my oncologist. I called her today to thank her. It's so important to have someone who believes in your gut intuition (that it wasn't cancer). She also has spent time talking to the new primary care doctor I'm meeting with tomorrow. How cool is that?
Oh...I forgot to mention one more thing that the Radiation Doctor was concerned about and wants my PCP to order another test. He thinks there might be a leak in my left implant. I will call my plastic surgeon tomorrow after meeting with the PCP. Only me!! Don't you think I could qualify for a World Record for the most complications from Breast Cancer? I've decided I can only handle one thing at a time, so that is priority number two. The strange thing is that I was thinking the same thing this week and even mentioned it to Lynn at work. Who knows? Who knows?
Well, I need to go rest this arm and hand. I'll blog again tomorrow night or the weekend to let you know what my new doctor has to say...I'm sure I'll have her thinking this weekend.
Make sure you stomp your feet and celebrate with me. It feels really good.
