Surgery Info

I have had many friends & family members texting, emailing, or calling asking what time my surgery is tomorrow. I'm sorry but I don't have the exact time. Originally I was supposed to be there at 9:30 because my surgery was scheduled around 11:30 am. The time got changed because they remembered there is a possibility that I might need a Platelet transfusion - which most likely will happen because my platelets don't have a history of coming up as quickly as desired. I'm now scheduled to be there at 8:45 am to have my blood drawn and checked.

My surgery should be very quick and under general anesthesia.

From there on ....I have no idea. I'm planning on returning home, unless they feel I need to be observed for some reason. Tomorrow I am only having the port removed. I will not have the picc line inserted until Tuesday morning. On Tuesday if my counts are good than I will start my chemo again that day AND yes, it will make it a very long day with adding 8 hours of blood draws after it.

I wish I could tell you I will update you tomorrow, but I'm not sure it's a possibility. Who knows...maybe I will surprise you. Or maybe you'll get an update on Saturday when I wake up - ha, ha.
