Radiation Tomorrow

On Friday I received a call that my appointment with the Radiation Oncologist was moved from Wednesday to Tuesday, and my first treatment for radiation will also begin on Tuesday. Tomorrow will be a very busy day. I'm very thankful that Jim will be with me.

8:45 am - Doctor appointment with Plastic Surgeon
10:30 am - Doctor appointment with Radiation Oncologist
11:15 am - 1st radiation treatment (first appointment takes about a half hour)

The surgeon will decide if I'm ready for radiation. Considering my bandages all fell off Saturday evening, I don't see any reason he would delay treatments. Both doctors will determine if I can return to work part-time. I still can't see why they wouldn't release me for work. If I'm released I could be back to work this week. Finally!!

I will be going for treatments daily. The time was also rescheduled on Friday. Originally I was to go each day at 4:15 pm, and now I'm scheduled for 9:30 am. My plan is to go to treatment each day and then go to work.

My prayer request is that I would not get a burnt hole. I think I've mentioned that before. I realize I will have some burning, and possible cracking of the skin. I just don't want a hole. You can only imagine how I'm a little freaked out about getting another hole or tear in the skin.

I will let you know how everything goes tomorrow. My doctor says I won't feel anything the first two weeks. He said, "It's the third that will hit you." I'm just going to try and enjoy the next two weeks.

"Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You." Psalm 56:3
